Tatiana's Cary home had a plain wall in the living room — functional, but with no visual presence. The goal wasn't just to mount a TV. It was to design the entire wall into a cohesive entertainment space that looks intentional, stays completely clean, and hides every wire and device from view.
The result needed to hold a TV on a full-motion mount, a soundbar underneath, and conceal a router, modem, TV box, and PS5 — all without a single cable visible anywhere on the wall surface.
The decorative wood slat panels were installed on a raised mounting base — this creates the depth needed to run cables and power behind the panels without cutting into drywall for every run. The LED strip lighting was placed along the perimeter behind the panels, producing the soft warm glow that frames the wall without any visible fixtures.
The floating shelf was positioned below the TV and anchored into the structural framing behind the slat wall. Inside the shelf: router, modem, Apple TV box, and PS5 — all accessible, all invisible from the room. Every cable connecting these devices to the TV runs inside the wall cavity, with power outlets positioned behind the shelf and behind the TV mount so no cords drop down the face of the panel.
The TV is mounted on a full-motion articulating arm secured directly into the framing behind the slat panels. This lets the panel tilt and swivel for comfortable viewing from anywhere in the room without compromising the flush look when it's centered. The soundbar sits below the shelf, its cable managed through the wall alongside everything else.
The wall went from blank to a fully designed entertainment space with no visible cables, no exposed devices, and no compromises on flexibility. The warm LED lighting gives the room ambiance without needing separate fixtures. The TV moves freely on its full-motion arm. The PS5 and every other device is accessible in the shelf without cluttering the room.
This is what a complete AV installation looks like when style and function are treated as equally important — not a TV bolted to a wall, but a wall designed around the experience of using it.
